"Hot Summertime" is the song of the summer and will quickly become a favorite at radio and on the networks.

Angela Hesse Discusses How Music Has Changed Her and How She Hopes to change Others

Every now and then you see a music video that brings back fond memories of childhood dreams.  It isn't often that one can look back on those fond memories and realize that they were the start of a dream being fulfilled.  However, that is exactly what Angela Hesse has done. She's taken her childhood dream of becoming a country singer, perfected her God given talents, and made it a reality.

Below Angela discusses how she got started on her music career and what her plans are for the future.  She also talks about her willingness to reach out and make a difference in the lives of others through her Anything To Make It Go Away organization.  Take a look at what this talented young artist has to say.
1. You've been singing since you were very young, correct?  Besides it being every young child's dream, what really inspired you to make a go of it yourself?

I've been singing and playing piano since a very young age.  I can remember seeing the music video "Any Man of Mine" by Shania Twain when I was just five and right then and there I knew I wanted to be a country singer.  Music has always been a big part of my life.  Most of my family is very musical.  I was interested in playing and writing my own stuff at a young age as well and as I grew so did my love of music.  I was involved in band, choir, and swing choir.  I participated in a few local talent shows, choir contests, and I was in All-State Choir.  I eventually went on to college for Vocal Music Performance and Education and ended up graduating with a Vocal Performance B.A.

This past summer I worked at music camps and waitressed, but as much as I tried to find a "normal" job, I kept coming back to songwriting and performing.  I found myself writing songs all day long even when I had other things to get done, but what really inspired me to go for it and make the move to Nashville is my faith.  One day I "woke up" and realized I had really been limiting my God given talents.  I believe in my musical abilities and why not go for it?  I have nothing to lose.  So I moved to Nashville.
2. How has embarking on this musical journey changed you?

I think embarking on this musical journey has made me realize the importance of following dreams.  We as humans tend to put limits on ourselves.  I want to inspire others to follow their dreams and use their God given talents.  Really, it has made my faith grow and has made me very thankful for all I have.  I am very fortunate to have a wonderful support system, my family!  I really appreciate all they do and I appreciate the time I get to spend with them more now than ever because I don't get to see them as often.  It has also made me very appreciative of other musicians and, of course, my fans.  It's important to have a network of musician friends, but it's even more important to have fans.  There wouldn't be a music industry without the fans and I probably wouldn't be as excited about doing this if I didn't have people excited for me too!

3. What makes you different from the other country artists in the industry?

I think I bring a sort of uniqueness to the industry just because I write such diverse music.  I have very country sounding music and I have very pop/rock sounding music.  I also have a very secular side and a very sacred side to my music.  This comes through because of all of the musical influences in my life.  Whether it is from growing up on a farm with three older brothers, listening to country music, or going to college and studying opera.  I want to show my musical diversity.  I would also have to say I am a very unique performer.  I love performing and I can't help but to show every emotion on my face and in all of my actions when I perform.

4. Please tell us more about your Anything to Make it Go Away organization.
I have an organization called Anything To Make It Go Away, which you can check out atanythingtomakeitgoaway.org or check out the Facebook page.  It started with a small group of my friends and I who put on a concert to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  I would eventually like it to be a way to raise money for multiple non-profit organizations and a place where people can get information about health, life, inspiration, and all of the ways to get involved with making the world a better place.

5.  What can fans expect from you in the future?
At the end of March I am starting a recording project and releasing my first single within the next few months.  I will be showcasing at the CMA fest on June 7th this year, which I am very excited about.  I am hoping to play more gigs around the Tennessee and Kentucky area this summer and within the next few years I would love to be touring around the country.  For more info and updates you can check out my Facebook page or go to mywebsite.  I also have some examples of my original music on YouTube.  I appreciate the support and interest.
